About Last Night

About last night.  I went for the ride of my life.  I was invite to the Odyssey for a media holiday party.  I was great.  Odyssey dining cruises on beautiful Lake Michigan.   It was a lovely escape from reality stepping aboard the elegant boat. Chicago’s shined in the background as we call eat and drink to the holiday cheer.  There was a great DJ and the service staff was top notch. The food was great and I was very happy to be in attendance.  The dancing floor had the cutest lighting.  The patten was set with LED lighting.  After partying on the lower level we all went upstairs for sweets.  The upper deck was equally as  beautiful.  The Odyssey in Chicago is having a NYE Fireworks Dinner Cruise | Thursday | 12/31/15 you can go to www.odysseycruises.com/chicago for more information.

After all that fun I went home with a fellow blogger and her mom.  I giggled all the way to my front door.  I'm now at my front door and that's when the real adventures start.  I couldn't find my keys.  I having had changed purses at work I was thinking I had left them there.  I then took a Uber from my house to my job in downtown Chicago.  I ran to my desk to get my keys which after looking in every drawer what seems like a million time I didn't find my house keys.  Standing at my desk I had to think quick on my feet.  The Uber driver was so nice.  He waited while I went in search of my keys.  I also left my heels in his back seat so he really didn't have a choice but to wait, lol.

So I'm back in the Uber with no keys but an overnight bag filled with clothes I've had in my desk.  I have him (the sexy Uber driver Dave) drop me at my cousin's house.  I thinking if this wasn't such a crazy night I would have given him my number.  So I got out of his car like dang a funny, attractive guy that didn't look like he would take me TV when I go to the bathroom.

So likes fast forward to today.  I chatted with my girl Rachel about the Uber cutie and she like "GIRL YOU BETTER CALL HIM."  I then put on my big girl panties and I called him though the app ( I know, I'm doing the most).  So he answers the phone and I say Hello ( in my Adele voice haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa),  This is LaToya from last night.  I was calling to see if you'd like to have dinner or a movie if you're not seeing anyone.  A pause happen.  He most likely was trying to process what the wacko girl was trying to say.  He says "I'm married."  *Throws phone*  I apologized for calling.  He said it was ok.  I hung up the phone and pushed out this blog post.

With all the happen I'm still smiling.  I said in my "Hello December"  post I was going to push my way into the New Year and I am.

Question would you have called him?

I got my keys back

Hello December

Hello there good people.  We have made it to the last month of the year.  Time goes by so fast.  It seems like just yesterday we were saying happy New Year!  December for me is often bitter sweet.  It's my birthday month (the 16) which is sweet.  I get all my birthday coupons and gifts from companies I love.  Which is great because they already have everything in sale leading up to Christmas.  The bitter comes in when I've think about all I wanted to do throughout the year and didn't.  I've been doubting myself and wanting more without working for it.  So I'm going push though this last month of 2015.  I'm already planning for a great 2016.  To usher it in I'll be giving my blog life with a blog post everyday this month.  I'll be talking about everything so check back daily to see what I'm chatting about.  I can tell you I'll be talking about makeup, recipes, being single for New Years' ( Use Use my Uber code latoyaw21 for $15 off your first ride) and I did this little interview with the fab Garner Style that will be hitting the blog soon.

Well the first post is done! Only 30 more to go :)

December will be good to us all.

Traveling Chicago During #BlogHerFood15

Let me be the first to welcome the #BlogherFood15 attendees to the city of Chicago.  This blog post is to help you get around Chicago while you're here.  Chicago is an easy city to travel around in without a car.  The public transit system called C.T.A.  will pretty much get you anywhere you want to go in Chicago.  So as #BlogHerFood15 attendees make their way to Chicago and are trying to find their way I'll supply you with some great travel options once you've arrived in Chicago.

Must attendees have chosen to stay at the Hyatt Regency which is the #BlogherFood15 host hotel.  The Hyatt Regency Chicago is located at
151 East Wacker Drive Chicago, IL 60601.  The major cross street are Michigan and Columbus running North South with Wacker and Lake running East West.  Hyatt Regency in downtown Chicago is steps away for the Magnificent Mile which is idea for dinning as well as shopping.  The Hyatt is also conveniently located near many tourist attractions including The Shedd Aquarium, The Sears now called Willis Tower, Grant Park, The Bean and Maggie Daley Park.

C.T.A.'s train system is known as the 'L' (a now-official name originally short for "elevated") will be the quickest and the cheapest way to get the host hotel.  If you landed in Chicago at the O’Hare International Airport you can take the BLUE line 'L' rain.  The train is very close to baggage claim so you can't miss the C.T.A. station.  You don't have to worry about getting on the wrong train because there's only one at airport and only goes in one direction from O'hare.  You can take the BLUE line 17 stops approximately 33 mins. to the Monroe stop.  Then walk to the 151 bus stop at Dearborn & Monroe going North you take that 5 stops about 6 mins to Michigan and E. Wacker.  From this stop you'll be steps from the Hyatt.

The 'L' doesn't take a cash so you'll need to stop at the Ventra machine to get a card.  I suggest you get a 3 day unlimited ride card if you plan on seeing the city while you're in Chicago.  A 3 day unlimited card is $20.

If driving is your thing  follow this directions from O’Hare Airport:
Take I-190 E to exit 50B (Ohio St E). Continue onto W Ohio St.
Turn right onto N LaSalle St.
Turn left onto W Upper Wacker Dr.
Use the left 2 lanes to turn slightly left onto E Wacker Dr.

Now if you landed in Chicago at the Midway International Airport you can take the ORANGE line 'L' train.  The Midway station is not located within the airport so follow the signs to get the the station.  Again you don't have to worry about getting on the wrong train because there's only one at airport and only goes in one direction from Midway.  You can take the ORANGE line 13 stops approximately 30 mins. to the State/Lake stop.  From here you're about and 10 min. walk to the Hyatt.  After all that traveling I'd just pay about the 6 dollar cab fare from State/Lake to get dropped at the hotel.

You can always driving from Chicago Midway Airport:
Take I-55 N to the US 41 N. Exit Columbus Dr, toward I-290. Continue onto S Columbus Dr.
Turn left onto E Randolph St. Turn right onto N Michigan Ave. Turn right onto E Upper Wacker Dr.

Parking:
24-hour Valet Parking is provided through the Hyatt hotel and allows for unlimited in-out privileges. Self-Parking is also available.  Both for a fee.  Contact the hotel for cost.

I also have some COST & TIME SAVING options to use while you're in Chicago.

Use my Uber invite code latoyaw21 for $15 off your first ride Uber ride. http://t.co/xmwWUhlm6X

Use my Lyft invite code LATOYA308013 for $20 off your first Lyft ride. https://t.co/qUctVsvpza

You'll need to download the Uber and or Lyft app.  They both require entering your credit or debit card information to get the savings off the first ride with each company.

If you have any questions feel free to tweet me at @fatgirl_fashion
As always if you see me around the #BlogHerFood15 conference stop me so we can take that all important selfie for Instagram  or Snapchat (@fatgirl_fashion)

Again welcome to Chicago and I can't wait to see you all.
